WrestleRock 4 - Night 2 - Review and Pics
A pumping crowd at the Corner Hotel were treated to an excellent night of rock and roll (sin City), debauchery and great wrestling. Again we saw the beautiful ring girl - Cupcakes. ----------------------------------- Spike Steele VS Jay Andrews As you would expect, this one was stiff and solid. Everything that comes with an Andrews/Steele match was showcased here and even for the opener, got the crowd going. Andrews received a lot of heat after getting the pin on Steele when using the ropes. Winner: Jay Andrews ------------------------------------- Stephan Cool VS Jag Hartley Jackson VS Slex Stephan Cool had his comedic moments during the start of this match as he and Jag semi teamed up to get the better of Slex, until Cool's undercarriage was smashed continually on the ropes and had to be taken backstage with a full bag of ice attached to his nuts... now onto the actual wrestling match. Jag and Slex then went on to showcase their amazing talents. A lot of back and forth which showed why these 2 are in the top few of the country. One point, Jag bumps like a bitch... a few things he did had me and a few others just going Ooooh.... Ahhhhh :) Slex got the win after a Slexecution and the 1-2-3. After the match I was amazed to see some tossers from the crowd throwing coins into the ring... but the ever thinking Jag quickly jumped on his knees after the match and picked up the change as quick as he could... he might as well take something back to SA after this loss, a buck or 2 in change made the trip worthwhile Im sure :) Winner: Slex ----------------------------------- Laser (C) VS Brave Dave Brave Dave played a great heel role here with wanting to ban drinking, smoking and any other fun thing within the Corner Hotel, even to the stage of having a drunken yob removed from the crowd by security because he was too drunk and being too abusive. An ok match which saw the Wrestlerock Champ retain his title. Winner: Laser ---------------------------------- KrackerJak Kontinental KarackerJak VS MadDog Mcrea This was as good, if not better than the other 'Death Match' hardcore shows Ive seen these 2 do. Highly entertaining and showed a lot of the non-rwrestling crowd what some of these boys go through to entertain. Barbwire, bed of nails, thumbtacks and a huge cactus. Blood galore and fighting through the crowd made for an eye opening bout. Loved it. I think the end came when MadDog piledrived Krackers onto the huge cactus in the ring. Excellent stuff. Winner: MadDog -------------------------------- Within the show itself we saw vignettes of Criss Fresh, Benny English and Rohan Herbstreit paying their 'respects' to the death of Steve Frost's career after Laser beat him at the ,ast Wrestlerock show for the title. Some comedic stuff here and after seeing the vignettes on the big screen, had Herbstreit come to the ring to show there was RIP Steve Frost t-shirts available for $25 at the foyer. We then had the WrestleRock Sheriff - The Ox come to the stage with his now little sidekick, Joey Russel JR., and tell Herbstreit his disrespecting of Steve Frost was not on. He said Frost was alive and well, and made a match for the next WrestleRock show between the big man Frost and Rohan Herbstreit. Excellent. -------------------- All in all a great night and capped off a great WrestleRock weekend. I urge anyone who hasnt seen a show to mae the effort to see one. A very unique experience.
