WrestleRock 4- Night 1 - Review and Pics
RESULTS FROM NIGHT 1 Firstly and most importantly... we saw a new ring girl, the stunning and delightful Mysty Cupcakes. Karnish VS Adam Gambino Wrestlrock debutante' Adam Gambino and his dance moves were robbed by the evil consortium of Karnish, Bulldog, Sebastian Walker and Joey Russell Jr. Was a bit all over the place with so much going on but ended up being enjoyable. Loved the 'new look' Gambino role... 'dance my golden Adonis, dance' :) Winner: Karnish ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel Swagger VS Carlo Cannon VS Trikki D Ive always liked Swaggers stuff and hadn't seen any of Cannons work, so I was looking forward to this and was happy with what I got. Its obvious the guys have worked a lot together in PCW as they tended to gel rather well, which can be hard with Triple Threats. Swagger and Trikki D worked almost as a heel team to gang up on the babyface Carlo Cannon and after Swagger was accidentily hit with a chair by Referee Billy Blaze, Carlo Cannon got the better of Trikki D for the win. Winner: Carlo Cannon ---------------------------------------------------------- 'Jag' Heartly Jackson VS Slex The Jag VS Slex match was excellent. Well as excellent as you can get in a middle of nowhere pub with 50 patrons. But any match with the likes of Jag and Slex involved is always gonna look good. This was an enjoyable match for me as it had everything I like... a bit of technical wizardry, some abuse to the crowd, some amazing knocks and fighting all over the Peninsula Lounge, even up through the instruments and band setup of the band - Sin City (the ROCK part of the WrestleROCK extravaganza). Jag got the pin by using his legs on the ropes. Damn South Australians :) Winner: 'Jag' Heartly Jackson ------------------------------------------------------------ ------ Hadn't seen Jag Heartly Jackson since a little PWA/JP crossover show in Mt Gambier last year, and was excellent to see the guy that made me get into local wrestling. Watching the likes of Jag, Havok and Anella etc., was what I was brought up on back in Adelaide and is always good seeing the guy work, especially as a great heel, he has come on leaps and bounds since the days of the old Octagon Theatre in Adelaide. And Slex is a god. Looking forward to the second part of the double header Saturday night at the Corner Hotel. ------- Brave Dave & KrackerJak VS MadDog Mcrea & Laser (C) Was good to see Brave Dave get into the heel role with Krackerjak quite easily. I miss the old days of 'The Brave Bastards' - Krackers and Dave. Running rampant on an unassuming PWA crowd. This was solid gold teaming for a mark like me. Hard fought against one of AUstralias Tough men, MadDog Mcrea and Wrestlerocks Champion and crowd fave, Laser... Brave Dave got the pin by using the title belt to clean Laser up whilst the ref wasnt looking and Krackers kept MadDog busy (by beating the sweet bejebus out of each other) on the outside. Class. Builds up for the Brave Dave VS Laser match at the second show at the Corner Hotel. Winner: Brave Dave & KrackerJak --------------------- A small crowd, but vocal. Almost seemed like a bit of a warmup for the BIg Corner Hotel show tonight in Richmond whichshould be huge. Well done to all Involved and look forward to the next show. Is it just me or has Jag put on a few pounds?
