It's one thing to have graphics which aren't the grea-*test*-('"), ala Shut Your Mouth, but I don't think I could ever use 2D graphics. Call me fickle.

RattleSnake- 10-15-2007

No my brother doesn't like wrestling apart from WWE's most boring wrestler, John Cena.

FallenInsanity- 10-15-2007

Calel??? Even the mother was asking, "Are you sure its mine?"

InTheZone- 10-15-2007

No my brother doesn't like wrestling apart from WWE's most boring wrestler, John Cena. He only likes one wrestler? What matches can he watch?

I dont think the game will be released here nless they get a TV deal in the near future. I would only expect it to be released in countries that get TNA televised but there is an off-chance seeing as though we get live ppvs

Shelley, Storm and Williams better be in it. Shelley and Storm because they're awesome, and Williams because if they bring out a video game WITHOUT the Canadian Destroyer in it, I'll be very upset.

Okay, please bear with me. I have some frustration to vent regarding Smackdown vs. RAW 2008. Call it a preview, if you will. Superstar Fighting Styles Touted as the main focus and newest feature of the series, this has been pounded out in every interview. 'Play like your superstar,' they claim. Let's take a look at what lies beneath this thinly-vieled marketing ploy. The fact of the matter is this; 'fighting styles' is not a new feature. It is actually a restriction on an old feature, with one or two new animations. In previous games we could remove a turnbuckle cover, dive out of the ring, possum pin, and strong irish whip, among other things. The addition of these awesome-o 'fighting styles' means that each of these moves - old moves, I might add - can now only be done by a portion of the roster. Undertaker- a powerhouse and a brawler. Want to jump out of the ring and recreate some of the big man's high-flying prowess? Tough luck. You can't, because thanks to this great feature, this can only be done by 'high fliers' - yet if you set his style to this, he will be springboarding off of ropes. Movesets So very similar to the introduction of 'fighting styles,' in that restricting players has been boasted as a great new feature. Since approximately '06, players are restricted to grapple categories, and may only select moves in these categories. 'More realistic,' they say, yet you'd be hard pressed to make a decent moveset for many of the wrestlers - without shoddy filler moves, chosen only because you can't get to another category - without hearing the distinct sound of Create-A-Moveset sucking away on -*test*-('")icles inside your Playstation disc-tray. This is not to mention that the moveset has been close to halved since several installments previous. This was addressed by developers, stating that it was due to 'the animations not being up to their standards.' I may not be getting an A-grade in Applicable Maths this year, but I was pretty sure 1 is still greater than 0, and that having something in the game is better than nothing. Yet, there you have it, the glorious assortment of foreign dunderheads who stickytape this game together have decided to remove said moves, because this will most assuredly improve the game. 24/7 Mode Season mode has suffered due to the introduction of Voice Overs. Less storylines, less control, the introduction of such amazing storylines as the magic wand... there is no doubt that Voice Overs have drained Season Mode. Not to mention that in this new installment, 2008, you'll be able to play as approximately 19 superstars in season mode. This is the fewest amount of grapplers ever available for season mode selection. You can only opt to chase one title - that being the World title on your show. You cannot be positioned in ECW. 24/7 mode? What does this hold for gamers? Instead of being able to play the matches and see the action you want each week, you now have to play in a virtual gym and train, and better yet, sign autographs for throngs of fans. If you don't, the fans forget you, your rating slips, and your season mode status is down the drain. Now the genius agglomeration has decided to include something so wondrous, so exciting, that many of the wrestlers themselves in real life end up with a headache and a bad attitude after. Sacrifices So, you must be thinking - there's got to be some upside to this. And there is. The features that made the past games enjoyable - unlockable attires (besides suits... who the f*ck wrestles in a suit? I would like to meet the asswipe who decided a suit would fit better in a wrestling game than another attire), varied season mode with more control, hundreds of moves, tens of wrestlers, etcetera have been sacrificed. What's the trade-off? -You-beaute extended entrances. Nevermind the fact that these get switched off the majority of the time. -Voice overs. Forced voice-overs which are actually becoming more ridiculous than reading text on-screen. -Fighting styles. See the heading above. -Several new wrestlers. Okay, this is a positive. But this is somewhat of a given, and I don't feel that this deserves any special credit. That's. About. It. Summary For anybody who can't be bothered reading the above, here is a summary. Pros -New weapon moves. -New springboard attacks. -New weapons. -New superstars. Cons -Small roster. -No new match types. -Fighting styles. -24/7 mode. If anything about CAW or new information on the game comes out, I'll no doubt end up ripping on that too. I won't lie, I play wrestling games a fair bit. That's probably why I get critical of the Smackdown! series. The problem is, these aren't little things that can be ignored easily. These are some of the stupidest, illogical decisions and progressions, and are not only NOT steps forward - in most cases the game takes several steps backward. This series is already fairly flawed. I'd say the developers can't afford to take any more steps back, but until another game is about to offer an alternative, these tossers will keep making money with minimal effort. After much experience with the Smackdown! series, there are three options I've theorized. Option 1- the developers belong on a certain shorter, orange bus with spinner-topped flap-hats. Option 2- the developers need to pull their joysticks of their A-Drives, stop being lazy and start to innovate, or hell, atleast TRY. Option 3- the developers need a good, hard kick up the clacker regardless of option 1 or 2.
