The Story so Far (possibly the longest post in EPW history)
Re-Awakening is now just around the corner so I couldn’t think of a better time to write this post. This is fairly detailed and very long it includes the background stories of RA The road to re-awakening is an emotionally charged ride full off twists, turns and betrayal. Most of the Feuds/Storylines have carried throughout the year but it was Cause for Concern that really set the path. At cause for concern we saw Jag turn on Mikey to join the Forefathers, The Storm/GST feud really take off and Carnage keep control of The Fallen Angel Azazal The forefathers are a big issue in EPW at the moment. The seeds for such a formation were ‘planted’ last year when Jimmy Payne missed 2004 due to injury and Storm being stripped of his title at Collision Course ’04. They first came together at Playing For Keeps, and were officially announced at Flame or Fortune. Since the formation they have proved to be a dominant force in EPW. The Carnage/ Azazel feud has run almost the whole year. At Flame or Fortune Carnage beat Azazal which caused Azazal to be embarrassed and he wanted to avenge his hatred towards Carnage. Carnage offered him a re-match, but Azazel signed the contract without reading the fine print. The stipulation of the match was that if Azazal lost he would be banned from Explosive Pro Wrestling and could only return at the mercy of the man who defeated him. Carnage went on to defeat Azazal which of course meant that he was suspended indefinitely. Carnage then went on to force him to sweep the ring, tear ticket stubs and to even sing the national anthem. Azazal tried retribution against FN Carnage by challenging Carnage’s protégé (Tommy Cartel) to a math against Azazal’s so-called protégé at Cause for Concern. Azazal’s protégé was himself in a mask that did not hide his identity. Tommy Cartel dominated the match forcing Azazal to deliver a blatant low-blow forcing his disqualification. Carnage then gave Azazal a chance to be re-instated into EPW. Carnage said that he would face anyone and if he lost, then Azazal would be re-instated. Azazel chose the ‘master of mayhem’ Havok, but it was no ordinary match but a weapons match. Carnage lost this match due to the interference of Azazal. Carnage and Azazal had drawn up contract for when and where Azazal could make his comeback. Azazal would have to face Carnage at RE-AWAKENING. But Azazal really lost control when he learnt that if he lost at RE-AWAKENING, he would be forced from EPW for good. Burbank then left it up to Carnage to make the biggest announcement of all. Their match will take place inside a steel cage. At night #2 of Evolution Mikey and Jag showed their respect for each other in the 4way elimination match. It came down to Mikey and Jag, before the bout they shake hands and then after being beaten Jag then applauded Mikey along with the EPW fans. At Hell or High Water, Jag announced that he would have Mikey’s back if there were to be interference from the forefathers. During the title match we saw Jag chase off Davis Storm before he could do any damage on Mikey. It was announced at the end of the night that Jag and Mikey would face off against the Forefathers. The match was set, Jag & Mikey vs. Jimmy Payne and Richter. Before the match could start, Lukey announced Psychofett as the newest member of the ForeFathers. The match then began before Psychofett revealed his true colour by attacking Jimmy Payne as the bell rung. Everytime Jag was tagged into the match the forefathers would refuse to stay in the ring…… we soon learnt why. The forefathers were down outside the ring and Mikey and Jag saw their chance. They prepared to dive onto Jimmy with a double tope before Jag changed direction and knocked Mikey senseless with a massive clothesline. We then learnt that Jag had soled his soul and had joined the Forefathers. The forefathers filled the ring as they delivered a beating to Mikey. Jag said that he remembered Mikey saying that he would give Jag a title shot anytime anyplace. It was soon clear that Re-Awakening would host this match. At Dirty Deeds a contract signing showed that it would be Jag vs. Mikey for the EPW championship in a best 2 of 3 falls match. The Bobby Bad Blood/ Storm Feud all began at HOHW when CJL gave the effort of a lifetime when he wrestled on a broken foot throughout an entire match telling officials that he wanted to continue. Storm later in the night had a spiel about the forefathers are the base of the company and the rookies do nothing but ruin their image. That’s when BBB came out saying that he is tired of the forefathers and if it wasn’t for rookies such as CJL then there would be no EPW. BBB then went on to challenge Storm to a match. The stage was set but with one other stipulation. It was to be the man behind the mic Nate Dooley to be special guest referee. At Cause for Concern it was BBB who came out on top with the help of his injured partner CJL. Nate Dooley called it straight down the line. During the post match celebrations Storm attacked CJL and hit the eye of the storm on BBB. CJL then challenged Storm to a match at Dirty Deeds. Storm refused unless CJL would make it a tag match for the EPW tag team titles. CJL agreed to the match. But then Lukey added Jimmy Payne to the match as special guest ringside enforcer. Jack Burbank countered by making Nate Dooley a ringside enforcer as well. In a sickening display of events we soon saw that Nate Dooley was Storm’s mystery partner. When GST were watching the forefathers Nate Dooley snuck in the cheap shot from behind. BBB turned to receive a belt shot. With BBB out of the picture Storm hit the kryptonite krunch and Nate registered the 3 count. At Re-Awakening it will be the tag team champs Storm & Nate vs GST. This is the general stories behind RA. I know I have missed out a few matches but I think I got the main ones covered. Hope this has been a good read for you all.
