Is EPW on the Brink of Chaos?
From the epw website: "Is EPW on the Brink of Chaos? – The INSIDER Speaks Out For the past few months, I, THE INSIDER, have lurked on the brink of EPW, keeping an eye on all the goings on, both in the ring & backstage. We have seen many important changes, none moreso than the retirement of Nate Dooley & Jimmy Payne. But the goodwill shown at the conclusion of Hell or Highwater may be glossing over a simple fact that has been ignored for far too long. And that is, EPW is being driven to the brink of chaos yet again by allowing an egomaniac to take charge of its live shows. The EPW Board of Directors have made this mistake several times in its history & have failed to learn from its mistakes. Putting one man in charge of everything is a system that simply does not work. Human beings are simply too weak to be in a position of power without allowing their emotions to rule how they do their job. Let’s face facts. Brett Corvus is out of control. He has surrounded himself with goons & yes men who help feed his ego & allow him to further his own personal agenda against men who do not follow his every direction. After regaining control in 2003 from the Uprising, the Board should have learnt its lesson & never again allowed itself to get to this point. They had a perfect opportunity for balance when Jack Burbank apparently returned to the Board after defeating Brad West at RE-AWAKENING last year. However, Corvus was able to block Jack’s return to EPW live shows by convincing the Board that Monday Night Wrestling needed Jack’s full attention to succeed. Why could both men have not worked together on both? No we are faced with a situation where Corvus may be hard to stop. He has a full time alliance with Tyler Jacobs & his bodyguard Tommy Cartel. But his part time army, who help him when it serves their best interests, also includes Drake Wallace, AZ Vegara, Jay Taylor & perhaps most importantly, the EPW champion Bobby Marshall. I, THE INSIDER, am sending this plea to the EPW Board of Directors. ACT NOW! If you allow this situation to go unchecked for much longer, Explosive Pro Wrestling will return to the dark old days of the Uprising. I, THE INSIDER, am not asking for Brett Corvus to be removed completely from his duties. In case you missed it, my solution is quite simple. BRING BACK BURBANK!" I say they appoint a wrestler with power for epw shows. Someone that can take on corvus in power and kick his croonies asses all at the same time.

Go back to an unseen board of directors. Leave the action to the wrestlers, and piss Corvus off for good. Also, take the lame out of Tyler Jacobs.

Feuds involving people who can't have matches seem like a waste of time to me.

Feuds involving people who can't have matches seem like a waste of time to me. Wrestlemania 2000 Main Event Any involving Eric Bishoff Angle's Wife Sandman's kid Cena's father it goes on and on

Wrestlemania 2000 Main Event Any involving Eric Bishoff Angle's Wife Sandman's kid Cena's father it goes on and on I agree with killswitch. To me, the angles you mentioned that I've seen were wastes of time. The same could have been achieved without such heavy involvement from outsiders.

Sandman's kid and Cena's Dad are different because it wasn't their feud, they was just pawns in a feud between two wrestlers.

So essentially you are saying that a lot of managers, valets, legends cameo appearances, interviewers, host and non wrestling characters, are not worth bothering with? Personally, i think they can add to stoylines and matches. Makes it more interesting sometimes. If you asked me it dilutes the repeativeness that can sometimes creep into wrestling... Mr Fuji would be sad

InTheZone- 07-23-2008

Managers, valets, interviewers and hosts are all related to wrestling. Cameo legends once were wrestlers, so are still a part of the scene. I just can't stomach when completely unrelated people hop in the mix, like Vickie and Dominic when they were brought into Guerrero storylines, as only a child and wife. It might just be my personal taste, but these people seem like the detached details, that get in the way of wrestlers and wrestling.

No, other people (kids, fathers, dead high school girlfriends, wooden horses, etc) can be involved all they want but the feud itself should be between to wrestlers.

MrAshWoodsworth- 07-23-2008

Dead high school girlfriends?? You leave Katie Vick outta this!. Shes been through enough!!~

killswitch- 07-23-2008

I didn't like Austin vs. McMahon myself and again at least one of them is a wrestler. Also, that shows just how played out the "evil authority figure" angle is since that was pretty much a decade ago.

From the epw website: BRING BACK BURBANK!" PLEASE! Have hardly seen him this year and more Burbank is never a bad thing!

SurfingBozo- 07-27-2008

I didn't like Austin vs. McMahon myself and again at least one of them is a wrestler. What DO you like? Seriously! That fued helped take the wwe to a whole new mainstream level. I really dont see what there wasn't to like about it. I also loved their cage match and vince's horribly brutal table bump.
