If it isnt' broken, why try to fix it? Reading some of the stuff over the last couple weeks, Id have to agree, there's a few things i'd agree with, and a fair bit i gotta disagree with.
The first is perceived lack of direction and lack of depth to some characters. I dont think that is the problem at all, I think its more that not many seem prepared to step up and stand up to the these characters such as Bobby, Corvus's crew and to a slightly lesser extent, team Allstar. But at this rate, they'll soon be apart of these "evil" power factions controlling EPW.
Lets face it... EPW has lost a few big names over the last couple years, As they age, they retire, or they dream in America whilst they are still young. The way I see it, there aren't many that have that seem like the really want to fill those gaps.
Mikey Nicholls
Bobby Marshall
Ferguson Block
AZ Vegara
Azazal
Marcius Pittsonopolous
Jimmy Payne
Nate Dooley
Jamie Jurah
Brock Freeman
Chris Vice
James Street
Slick Rick Sanders
Just some of the names that have taken extended breaks over the last year and a bit, and whilst some have returned better than before, some simply never return. So who fill the spots? Or should we really ask... who wants to fill those spots?
So far, the only one to stand up to Corvus's nest of henchmen has been Devlin... Now, the average viewer has surely gotta see that this is growing outta control for the federation. He started with only Tommy Cartel who hadn't been seen for ages. Within a blink of the eye in historys pages he's know got "Azazal" Drake Wallace, and Tyler "FN "Shotgun" Carnage" Jacobs doing his dirty work....
Last time i remember those two were on the same page, we had both the Uprising and the Brat Pack in the midst of there brigh-*test*-('") days. Add to the mix Bobby Marshall who appears to have an understanding with Corvus, and well that there is one huge power trip. If West and Corvus ever talk over coffee... well even Venville aint big enough for that ego swell. And why wouldn't you if you had that much power!
Devlin is like a lone cowboy riding a steel horse alone. He's stong, he's entertaining, he's a future EPW champion, and he's over, but he needs others to help fight this battle. So who best to help him?
Richter atm is the only other one that seems to be fighting this power swing. Sure, he's lost matches he should have won in the past. I'd say its bee lack of focus or many he's just been understimating his own strength. However this year, there has been no faultline. He's been beating people more convincingly than ever, he's been after Bobby, he's now won 2 rumbles i think, and at this stage is the one thats stepped up the most this year.
He could be unstoppable if really wanted to. Is that enough to beat the best wrestler in the country, who knows but personally I think he deserves that spot against Bobby at ReAwakening. If he somehow could beat Bobby at RA, and the "faces" rallied behind him, he could help lead the resistance.
Storm is probably the only other one that would be capable of the leading the troops to battle. Except, he has only just been exposed to this issue. Lets not forget, he's only just come out of an angle involving Payne and Dooley. He hasn't been after Bobby or Corvus. There was no issue between these guys up until a couple months ago. Nothing against Storm, but he hasn't actually been involved in the title race lately anyways. (Then again Kiel hadn't done anything to earn a shot, so what does that matter) Fair enough, he beat Jimmy, which alone implies greatness, but im pretty sure guys like Wallace, and Shotgun are gonna have a say in preventing him getting a title shot.
Haste is starting to round up his own chargers which is great, unless they'start wearing watermelons again. That cost them a gold in the past, and Shane has now had a taste of the gold, but i wanna see what he learnt. He's in the fortunate situation where Corvus hasn't gone after him too yet, but hey... that coffee West and Corvus had earlier could turn into a declaration of war from Team Allstar
Ferguson Block is the other one who should be capable of going up to that level right about now. He has the experience, he has the ability, and if the many evolutions of EPW has taught him anything, he sure should have the motive by now. Will he? Well only he can answer that, and he will only get the right answer if he asks the right questions. Do you still wanna get psycho? Or would you rather be led like a puppet. Evolution seems to say that keeps failing... give in, give in decide?
What is the meaning of life?
go doctor chad!
I haven't really said much about interstaters in this equation. They dont care about who's in charge. They just care about the chance to wrestle someone different or the money they earn as a henchman. They did care about the NWA Australian title... but that sailed away. Maybe we'll get to see a title defense at ReAwakening... otherwise what was the point?
It will be interesting to see how these situations develops from here. Are the Jurahnaughts going to be draged into this all? Surely the tag champs are a worthy alliance, or perhaps the Schmidt Family. The European Union, Jose Del Santo, do need a bit of a make over. AZ and JT remind me of the Mean Street Posse just a little bit right now.
And where the hell is CJL???
I think, given all thats happened over the last year, its not as broken as the impression on here seemed to suggest. If anything its like the transition from primary school to high school.... Little bit different, a bit of a shock to the system, but in the end it'll be a lot stronger than it ever was.
Well thats my thoughts for the few that can see it. If symptoms persist, please see your regular doctor.

It's been said before; nobody's totally giving EPW the boot at all, or even calling it close to broken. There's just no point sugar-coating the opinion of a crowd.. how does that help EPW grow? Constructive criticism is more useful and - dare I say it, kinder - than spin-doctoring everything to seem peachy. That's my opinion.
The potential is there, but in my eyes it's not fully been reached - maybe it's just dropped off a little.
All of those leaving names you mentioned definately had an impact in this. I was watching the highlight videos on the free DVD (good watch, by the way) and they reminded me of my favourite times in EPW. Not just because of familiar faces, but the feel was very different, and the top guys were genuinely top guys - and everybody down the card was excellent, to boot.
I already offered some thoughts in the other thread, to the same effect. For me, the biggest issue is this; it's fine for you to question who will take on the MegaPowersInSuits, but to me, I just don't enjoy watching them enough to even look to their future. Sad, but it's there.
