Little Bean- 11-03-2007

End of Year award reults: Wookie of the Year: Nate Dooley Rookie of the Year: Dan "The Beast" Moore Most Improved: Marcus Pitsanopilus (no thats not a joke) Event of the Year: Evolution (but unfortunately Evolution was unable to attend) Match of the Year: EPW Title Ladder Match- Jimmy Payne vs Bobby Marshall Wrestler of the Year: Shane Haste Also Jose Del Santo won the pReAwakening Battle Royale Must say: Loved the show Slater vs AZ was a bit slow to start with however these two exchanged some really good holds. Three Way Dance was a bit of a let down (apart from the result). Brad West vs Jack Burbank was as expected, disappointed in Burbank's decision to terminate Brad West's contract, but hopefully will see this decision reversed by the board. Tag Team table match was awesome (although not as good as the original) but these guys did some crazy stuff, loved Chase/Dans elimination of Marcus, as well as the final elbow drops from the balcony, however, again was dissapointed with the result would have loved EU/Dan-Chase to walk out with belts for comedic value. House of Pain Match: Expected that the Baseball bat was a bit exageratted, didnt achieve desired effect for me mainly through unconvincing use (motion in swinging was very weak) however submission at the end was cool. Is there anyone who can stop Steele in a hard core environment? 2 out of 3 falls match- I really enjoyed this match, it was a good change of pass to the rest of the night, these 2 exchanged awesome wrestling holds and delivered a technically brilliant match, I'm a little disappointed that some in the crowd weren't able to appreciate this however. EPW Title Match: Was (Censored) Awsome, loved every second of it, two drunk Bobby chicks were hilarious, That Mid air Clothesline collision was Insane. Overall I had an awesome night. My ReAwakening moment: Being the only person in the crowd that Chad gave the finger to! also getting into the Pic with Shane as he posed in front of the barricade, can't wait to see it!

KennedyIsGod- 11-03-2007

Lol, not to mention Lukey have to draw about 5 names out of the hat until they finally got a winner. And speaking of the battle royale, it was good to see some of the new talent in there.

/usr/epw- 11-03-2007

Maybe its just me but it didnt seem to quite match up to last year. appeared to be a standard sized crowd with not a lot of crowd interaction (apart from the normal chanters). i must admit i was surprised that payne v storm didnt get outside the fence. still, a pretty good match.

in training- 11-03-2007

Well I voted for all those guys except for Haste, so pretty good voting IMO. Great night of action, the newspaper was AWESOME!!!

killswitch- 11-03-2007

posting drunk w00t~! *Sitting in the sun near Ashwoodsworth while feeling VERY surly and hung over. *Too many of the rookies wear black, who was Shane Haste Jr? the shiny, bigger guy seemed like he could be good (booo! to the section near us who wouldn't Mexican wave) *Was that Lukey or Chuck Norris on commentary *Clerks soundtrack *Slater (minus rukus) being awesome and AZ almost matching him move for move. *West brings the funny, Burbank = Tomko + Zeus. Cheap finish was a bit weak after a year of build up. *HELLFIIIIIIIIIIIISH!. Really great brawl, the ex-Naughts busted out CRAZY shit and the 'Fish get their belts back. *House of pain was brutal. *Storm/Jimmy was as awesome as I expected them to be, STILL yet to see Payne in a match that wasn't at least really, really good. Barring Doolyference. *Main event was even better than I thought it'd be, Marshall-skanks were funny. Awesome stuff, usual crazy-ass Haste shit, FUNFUNFUN.

RattleSnake- 11-03-2007

I thought the Main Event was very good in my opinion. At the start it looked like they had alot of stuff-ups and kept getting hurt, but then they bounced back from that and put on a good match. I thought Jimmy VS Storm was an awesome match aswell, there was this little kid behind me who kept yelling boring, but not everyone understands technical wrestling. Spike VS Devlin was good apart from the Barbedwire baseball bat not living up to the hype, but i can't blame them because they didn't want to rip each other's faces off. Spike Seems to be on a role. Maybe next year we might get some morre international wrestlers coming to EPW after the NWA comes. Then we might see someone who can challenge Spike. Although it is highly unlikely it would be cool to see Spike VS Sabu in a Hardcore match. But then again X-Pac and Rikishi and Gangrel are coming to Perth. The Tables Match was Insane............... Balcony Jump, that Backflip slam thing which i dont know the name for. Plus a bunch of other insane stuff. Mana VS Richter VS Vice was alright, wasn't it mean to be that after Richter was pinned Vice and Mana were still in the match but Mana hurt his leg and couldnt so Vice just won and thats why they didnt ring the bell for a while because they didn't know if Mana could wrestle anymore so they had to find out or something like that. Badass Jack Burbank VS Brad West was as i expected it would take place, bit of interference here, bit of Breaking the rules there and a bit of Badass Jack Burbank smashing the crap out of Brad West. Too bad now i cant fulfil one of my life long dreams now that Brad West has been fired. Az VS Vegara was a good opening match apart from the outcome. How could you not cheer for the New Sensation of Australian Wrestling?

Excellent night of wrestling, I enjoyed this more than last year's Re-Awakening. My three top matches of the night were Storm/Payne, Tables, and Haste/Marshall. As always with the bigger crowd, chants and claps are hard to start when people stare at you rather than joining in. I think the House of Pain is getting a bit of an unfair deal on the forum, what were you all expecting? They had some massive shots from the chair, the sign, and some bloody dangerous barbed wire baseball bat action. The shots from that, I felt, were not weak at all, and the finish was mammoth. I don't understand how people can be disappointed with that, I think it was a great match. Well done to Chase and Moore who left a strong mark on Re-Awakening with their elimination of Pitts. Hellfish getting the win was great, and their finish was excellent. I enjoyed the countdown. As I expected in the Interference thread, Dooley & Vegara stuck their noses where they didn't belong. Those two showing up drew some genuine anger out of me, it was great. I enjoyed giving those ass-hats a piece of my mind. It's always a shame when some of the crowd chants 'boring,' especially during some top-notch technical wrestling like the beginning of Storm/Payne and Vegara/Slater. I thought that technical wrestling was great, and enjoyed the back-and-forth. It'd be nice if the crowd would react to those sorts of moves too, but at least I played my part in that. The Battle Royal was a great idea, giving us a chance to see some more wrestlers, and more wrestlers a chance to be a part of Re-Awakening. Shame that the crowd sat like stunned mullets as the Mexican Wave began, I think Jose deserved a good Wave. Burbank is a bloody tank, and I think he did an outstanding job living up to a tough expectation. Usually those who aren't wrestlers will never measure up when they step in the ring, but you can see that Burbank has been training very hard and pulled off a very good match with West. The newspapers were excellent, I got a good kick out of those. A nice addition to my wall, with EPW tickets and flyers around it. Well done to Haste for fighting through a dud shoulder, and pulling off one hell of a match in the process. I was concerned for his health and the match when he went down, but he recovered and then some. Bobby Marshall's legion of (three) fans on the guard rail opposite us made the match a little more fun. I couldn't quite tell if they were intoxicated or just VERY into Marshall, but a little more jumping around and leaning over rails and we would have had to have covered Rattlesnake's eyes. Not bad, though. One last nice touch was Penhero mocking my avatar, as we argued he mocked my pointing to my shirt. That gave me a good laugh, I think it's great that those two went the extra mile to involve the crowd. It's definately appreciated... but on the record, BOOOOO West!

RattleSnake- 11-03-2007

Were the Three Marshall fans the ones who appeared to be into Azazal 3 house shows ago, because i had a head-ache after that house show.

KennedyIsGod- 11-03-2007

I thought Jimmy VS Storm was an awesome match aswell, there was this little kid behind me who kept yelling boring, but not everyone understands technical wrestling. I must've been sitting near you, but I laughed when the guy yelled "No, this is wrestling!". Those kids just want spots. But I loved how Marshall and Azazal owned those guys.

in training- 11-03-2007

Don't know how the HOP didn't live up to hype, I was cringing, it was crazy! The douple top-rope C-4 was awesome! As was Hellfish's finish, now they have the gold they really are rich as nazis. Shane Haste Jnr was Alex Kingston. At the house shows he's been flying around and Lukey said SHane Haste has been mentoring him, thus the pants. DO A FLIP!

MrAshWoodsworth- 11-03-2007

Along with Killswitch, my friends and i were sat directly in the sun for about 2 and a half hours lining up. 100000 flys + hot sun burning you for 2 and a half hours sucks really badly. Thought the Blackalye royal was fairly entertaining. Was hoping that Dooley would get the win. -Slater/Viagra- was verrryy good. -Mana/Richter/Vice- FINALLY! Vice has new attire and boots, really meh match and the finish had everybody confused. -Tabls match-Insane!!, waaay better than the 04 tag team tables match. Double spanish fly was absolutely amazing, looked like it wouldve killed Dan Moore. West/Burbank- Just how as i expected, fairly decent. Those velcro brass knuckles=lethal!! Devlin/Spike- A little let down with this match, Spike didnt seem his usual self for some reason. Jimmy/Storm-Great match!, Jimmys attire rules!! Bobby/Haste-This would rival the tables match for MOTN, really enjoyed that. What was up with the old drunk hag and her 2 crazy younger companians?. They were going nuts. Pretty good show imo, the lack of crowd was pretty surprising. I guess its because most people will be saving for NWA and the Rikishi/Gangrel show. Also, maybe he was there but i didnt notice buuut i didnt see Elvis's dad. His verbal confrontations with Azazal are always hugely entertaining.

I really wanted Viagra to have a new side of things, and be more dominant, but it looks like Bobby's bitch couldn't beat Slater.

InTheZone- 11-03-2007

I really wanted Viagra to have a new side of things, and be more dominant, but it looks like Bobby's bitch couldn't beat Slater. I think Slater is more deserving of the spot in the NWA tournament. If it were a regular singles match without that spot up for grabs, I would have expected Vegara to steal the win, but not when the NWA spot is on the line.

thegenerator- 11-03-2007

Most of it was pretty passable, it was decent stuff. The opener was my MOTN, Slater and Vegara did very well. They need to give Johnny a feud with Kingston if it means Johnny gets to pull that sweet headlock reversal to fisherman's buster again. That was one of the highlights of the night, along with him getting Steiner Screwdriver-ed by Carny(?) later in the night. The guy is a bumping machine. Slater now apparentely uses the Gallaria/necklock-> sitout tombstone which is awesome. Has he always used this as his finisher? I thought he used a Final Cut or something. Tag Team Tables match had a bit of an anticlimactic finish with the way it went down, but I'm not really complaining. Chase is insane. Brad West has won my approval back for the newspaper spot. That was worth the price of admission alone, classic stuff.
